Because her husband did not physically hurt her, she didn’t recognize the different types of abuse until reading a book. “That day I escaped with my two children to Sojourner Center. I knew about Sonoran University of Health Sciences and when I was walking into the shelter, I saw the Sonoran University of Health Sciences sign breathed a sigh of relief and told myself, ‘Okay, I can do this!’” Rebecca has seen a tremendous difference in her pain and anxiety from the abuse and continues to heal every day.
